EVT Medical Launches Innovative Ileus Tube Sets to Improve Standardized Treatment for Intestinal Obstruction
Intestinal obstruction is a common acute abdominal surgical condition. Research data indicates a substantial global disease burden of intestinal obstruction, with over 96,000 cases reported in China alone in 2019. Approximately 90% of clinical cases occur in the small intestine, and severe strangulated intestinal obstruction can have a mortality rate of up to 10%. Gastrointestinal decompression is a key non-surgical treatment method for intestinal obstruction. Recently, EVT Medical has launched its domestically developed Ileus Tube Sets, aiming to provide an optimized solution for the standardized treatment of intestinal obstruction.
Gastrointestinal decompression aims to remove gas and fluid from the gastrointestinal tract to reduce intraluminal pressure, alleviate abdominal distension and inflammation, improve intestinal wall blood flow, and promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function. Traditional nasogastric tubes have limitations in this context:
Ileus tubes enable deep intubation and can advance further with intestinal peristalsis, thereby achieving effective and continuous decompression of the obstructed segment. This leads to faster symptom relief and increases the success rate of non-surgical treatment.

The application of ileus tubes is supported by clinical evidence and expert consensus. In recent years, multiple guidelines/consensus documents have affirmed their clinical role:
With advancing understanding of intestinal obstruction and developments in intubation techniques, relevant domestic societies have also formulated the Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of Ileus Tubes in the Prevention and Treatment of Intestinal Obstruction, further standardizing and promoting the clinical use of ileus tubes.

Adhering to guidelines and consensus, the EVT Medical Ileus Tube Sets ensure effective decompression while incorporating detailed optimizations for smoother and more reliable operation.
Smooth Transition Between Guide Tip and Tube Body for Uninterrupted Guidewire Advancement
The junction between the catheter guide tip and the tube body features a smooth, step-free design. This allows for smooth repeated advancement of the guidewire, reducing jamming and making the intubation process more efficient.
Simplified Occlusion with a Cap Design
Replacing the traditional sealing plug, the set utilizes a cap-style occluder that can be attached to the bamboo joint. Occlusion is achieved simply by tightening the cap, streamlining the procedure.
Fixation Hole on the Handle Connector to Prevent Dislodgement
The catheter handle is equipped with a fixation hole, allowing it to be sutured to the patient's gown. This helps prevent displacement or accidental removal due to patient movement or unintended pulling, ensuring continuous and reliable decompression.
